Meet The Founders

Skurp’s Coffee Co. is more than a cart.
We’re a social enterprise serving high-quality coffee with purpose. Inspired by the legacy of our founder’s father and grandmother, we deliver handcrafted drinks to events across Dallas while funding free coffee service to those who need it most.

Through The Hold It Together Project, every event booked helps us serve first responders, hospital caregivers, the unhoused, and individuals in recovery - because no one should have to carry the world alone.

Sheridan Skurupey-McDonald

Co-Founder & Lead Operator

Sheridan always knew she wanted to build something that combined purpose and people. After years in the nonprofit sector, and a decade-long dream of launching a mobile food business, she co-founded Skurp’s Coffee Co. as a community-forward cart focused on comfort, connection, and a damn good latte.

She brings experience in nonprofit strategy, a love of systems and service, and a belief that a great cup of coffee can be both a daily ritual and a form of care. From operations to espresso shots, Sheridan leads with heart and hustle - making sure Skurp’s shows up with intention, wherever it rolls up.

Rev. Sean McDonald

Co-Founder & Support Lead

Sean is not your average pastor. Tattooed, athletic, and a firm believer that coffee can be a ministry, he brings unexpected energy to every espresso shot—and every Sunday sermon. When he’s not preaching at Munger Place Church in East Dallas, he’s helping build a movement of comfort and connection alongside his wife, Sheridan. Their shared vision? Use coffee as a bridge. Between communities, strangers, chaos and calm. Fueled by faith and oat milk.

A Shared Life, A Shared Vision

We crossed paths in 2015 at Randolph-Macon College in Virginia, but it wasn’t exactly love at first sight. It wasn’t until a spontaneous hangout in the spring of 2016 that something clicked and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

Our dreams were different: Sheridan had always imagined owning a mobile food business, while Sean was called to ministry. But what started as two people following their individual passions slowly became a shared vision for building something meaningful together.

In 2019, we eloped and moved to Dallas. Sean went on to graduate from SMU’s Perkins School of Theology and was ordained in 2025. Sheridan now attends SMU too, working toward her Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership.

Today, we share our lives with two rescue dogs, two cats, and a belief that bold dreams and big hearts are worth betting on. We're best friends, business partners, and committed to building something that reflects both who we are and who we serve.
